Rob Parker: Lamar Jackson Has to Be the MVP Front Runner

Rob and Kelvin react to a masterful Christmas Day performance by Lamar Jackson, who greatly improved his MVP odds after dismantling the Texans. While Rob is ready to award Jackson the 2024 MVP award, Kelvin is a bit more hesitant to take away the "front runner" mantle from Josh Allen, who's had an incredible season in his own right.

Rob Parker: "I've been on this bandwagon for a long time. I never gave in when you all said the race was over and Josh Allen had it locked up. I think Lamar's MVP case is real, and I think he's actually in the lead. They started out 0-2... Did you know 91 percent of teams that start 0-2 don't make the playoffs? Not only are they gonna make the playoffs, they're gonna win the division! In their head to head matchup, [Lamar] beat Josh Allen!... When you look at his numbers, they're historic! He has an incredible resume for an MVP!"
Kelvin Washington: "Everything you said is great, and everything you said is the reason why I've said Lamar Jackson is the best player. But this ain't the best player award. For whatever reason, we don't know what MVP stands for. We know the acronym, but we don't know how to break down the criteria... Josh Allen is doing more with less. He's doing all of this without star players around him... Having Derrick Henry is going to hurt Lamar... Josh Allen's stats aren't as superior as Lamar's, but do you see what he's doing? He's winning his division. He has the better record. He's only lost three games. He beat the Lions. He beat the Chiefs."
