St. Vincent Unveils Street Posters To Announce New Album 'Daddy's Home'

St. Vincent has been quite vocal about the fact that she's been busy making music in quarantine, so we knew it was only a matter of time before we were hit with an album announcement. But we couldn't have predicted the way in which she revealed the news.

On Wednesday (February 24), street posters began cropping up to promote a new album called Daddy's Home. The retro artwork features a photo of Annie Clark rocking a blonde bob haircut, dressed in a maroon pantsuit with her arms crossed. The tagline reads:

Who's your daddy?
St. Vincent is back with a record of all-new songs.
Warm Wurlitzers and wit, glistening guitars and grit, with sleaze and style for days. Taking you from uptown to downtown with the artist who makes you expect the unexpected.
So sit back, light up, and by all means have that bourbon waiting, because…DADDY’S HOME.

Clark's only acknowledgement of the news was a tweet the simply said: "Nothing to see here."

During an interview with MOJO late last year, Clark described new St. Vincent music as “a tectonic shift."

“I felt I had gone as far as I could possibly go with angularity. I was interested in going back to the music I’ve listened to more than any other — Stevie Wonder records from the early ’70s, Sly And The Family Stone. I studied at the feet of those masters.”

She described the new album as “the color palette of the world of Taxi Driver” and “Gena Rowlands in a Cassavetes film."

“I just wanted to capture the colors, the film stock, and tell these stories of being down and out, down on your luck,” she added.

Daddy's Home is slated for a May 14 release.
